il this winter. Warm weather is here to stay, the water is crystal green, and the trees and flowers are bursting at the seams to open and enjoy the beautiful weather we’ve been having. We look forward to our second summer season welcoming Bed & Breakfast guests, graduation celebrations, and family reunions.

Blue skies, brilliant fall reds, yellows, and oranges, and sparkling emerald water. That’s what we see out the window every morning. Hokie football season is in full swing and we’re enjoying welcoming both Hokie fans AND opponent fans! The cove is ever so peaceful. Take out our canoe, two-seater, kayak, one-seater kayaks, paddle boat, or bring your own! It’s still warm enough for a polar bear dip in the lake, too.
This is the PERFECT time of year to ride the New River Bike Trail. The fall colors this year are going to be magnificent.

News from Contentment
Summer is here. Jan is finished teaching at the local elementary school and we are preparing for our upcoming Open House on June 18. We’ve had some wonderful guests this spring and summer and it has been such a joy to share with and host all of them. The mounds of stone and dirt from the renovation project have transformed into a beautiful lawn and the outdoor shower is looking beautiful!

Now taking reservations for all seasons!
Contentment on the Cove is now ready to accommodate guests in both guest rooms: The Bluebird Room and The Green Heron Room. Both rooms have ensuite bathrooms with beautiful tile showers and plush beds with plenty of space to relax both in the room and around the house. Book your reservations now by calling or e-mailing! This is a great place to stay for local graduations, reunions, and other events or just a great place to get away. Landscaping is still in progress! Stay tuned for updates. Contentment on the cove has gotten many inches of snowfall this winter! It’s been so cozy to sit by the fireplace and watch the snow fall all around and on the lake. The lake has frozen over and we’ve been able to ice skate. We’re also happy to announce that we have two pairs of snowshoes and the snowshoeing conditions have been fabulous!
Renovation Near Completion! Opening Soon!
Contentment on the Cove will officially open for business on November 1, 2010. The construction crew has worked tirelessly throughout the summer to complete the renovation project. We are happy to announce the names of the guestrooms will be “The Green Heron Room”, named for a beautiful bird that lives by the water, and “The Osprey Nest”, another native bird that lives on the cove. We have a lot of fun activities going on in the area throughout the fall and the cove is very quiet and peaceful through the fall and winter. In winter, the lake freezes over and ice skating is a fun activity to do! Plus, there are two great ski resorts not far away! See “Area Attractions” for links. We look forward to this next step in our lives and being able to open our home to serve guests as they enjoy this beautiful place and all the area has to offer!
